Hey everyone,
Once again, my car is all f*cked up. I recently had to fix my right cv boot/shaft, when the boot busted open. Now one of the shafts in the same area is rubbing against another and making a rubbing noise when I turn the wheel a certain way (against the cv I think; sorry I don’t know the technical terms). So I took the car to my local shop and stood under it with the mechanic while the owner turned the wheel.

We found the problem: the main 4 bushings of the lower control arms are busted and so is another one in one of the shafts. Well...this is what you get when you buy a salvaged car (well worth it all-in-all, but a pain in my a*s!).

Anyway, we called Nissan, but they don’t just sell the bushings. They say there is nothing I can do but buy all new lower control arms (which cost $220 each, plus installation). Is this true? Are there any non-nissan bushings that will work?

Sweet! Thanks for the info. They sell the lower control arms for $150 (for a maxima.org member).
