The headlight adjustment screw is located to the inside part of the headlight assembly in looking at the ESM. It is most likely long and white, which a Phillips screw head on it.

The ESM says to tighten all the way, then start backing it out. It shows a bunch of fancy diagrams and doesn't really give you a step-by-step description of how to adjust.

I accidently adjusted one of my foglights. I simply turned the lights on and kept adjusting until it "looked right". I parked in front of a wall so that I could see the beam projecting on the wall and basically just eye-balled the adjustments I was making.

I have the same problem! The dealer told me the left headlight was fine and basically I'm crazy.

Unless it's severe, I believe the left is supposed to be lower. The right headlight is aimed to cast light higher to better illuminate highway signs. My right headlight beam has always been a little higher.

The alignment of the left headlight should be lower than the right. At a screen 25 feet from the front of the car, the cutoff for the right headlight should be about 2 1/2 inches above the headlight centerline. The left headlight should be about 2 1/2 inches below the same centerline.

The right headlight is higher to allow illuminating road signs, while the left is lower to reduce amount of light shining in oncoming drivers faces.

When I was in Germany with the Air Force and we took vehicles to England, we had to mask the right headlights to effectively lower the beam pattern to reduce the light for oncoming drivers (since we were then on the "other side" of the road).

What I think you are seeing is the pattern of European spec headlights.

Park your car facing a wall about 20-30 feet away. Then unhook one of your headlights. Since you think the left headlight is lower than the right unhook the right first. When you turn on the headlight you should see a pattern on the wall which is horizontal on the left and rising on the right. This is the way it is designed, so it will shine further up the right side of the road than the left. If you want to take the time, unhook the left headlight and check for the same pattern on the right light.

I've been using European spec headlight for years. They are great.
