If anyone knows that it's me Maybe the flow design on these is superior to the ones I imporeted and dynoed. Headers could give 2002's a great option for more power!

Anyone heard of this?

I read something on the audi forums about something called a "recursion chamber" that eliminated the need for equal length headers. It's basically a chamber at the meeting point after all the header ports that is shaped in such a way that it equalizes the backpressure of each exhaust port instantly thus increasing flow and reducing overall backpressure. The benefit of this design supposedly eliminates the need for equal length headers and allows for shortest path designs. This could save space and improve flow.

dunno if anyone's heard of this I'd like to hear input if you have...

I've got a diagram of it but i'm too lazy to put it up sorry

I dont know about headers for the max. I remember reading that this company in australia or somewhere made em and they only dynoed at 1 or 2 horse power so no body bothers to get them. the maxima gains for the exhaust are made through the y pipe. now the 2002 Im not really sure what headers would do.

Basically, our Max is like the C4 Corvette...the factory headers are the BEST you can do unless you do extensive engine modifications. And I mean more than bolting up a supacharga...I mean like boring out the engine, porting the heads, etc...

If you fall into the handful of people that have bored your 3.0L to 3.6L or your 3.5 to near 4.0, our factory headers should be the best you need at this point. Unless you want new headers for appearance reasons. Then go right ahead. And when you're done, I've got some shoreline property in Arizona I want to sell you
