got rice? ....eatricezone.com.......
I ordered a body kit from eatricezone.com (Phuong) a few months ago.
I've been waiting for the spring to get it installed.
Now that spring is here I've been going around to different body shops to get quotes. Every single guys who looks at the rocker panels
asks me what the hell happened to them. So I explain to them that the rockers were bent in half before being shipped to me and they are appalled.
I've posted a similar thread in the past and apparently other people have received their side rockers in the same condition. But every
body shop guy I've gone to so far (total of 4)tells me to return the side rockers cause they are way too bent out of shape.
What do I do? Anyone know Phuong at eatricezone.com?

I'm pretty sure that's how they are being sent out. I think Avalon Racing had a post about this also. About Phuong, I can vouch he is an honest and good guy to deal with.

You can wrap the bodykit into a ball, tape it, and make it a big soccer ball if you wanted to. It'll still return to the original shape once it's heated up.
If the bodyshop is telling you this, I wouldn't even bother letting them do the work. Any experienced shop that has worked on urethane would know what to do.
Just heat up the panels and it'll return to their original shape. Having a heat gun makes the process quicker. I've done it before and hundreds of other guys who've purchased Stillen rocker panels have done it before. Your situation is no different than the rest. Everyone that purchases the rocker panels received them bent in half unless you state specifically that you don't want them bent, in which case they are placed in a larger box and shipped truck freight (increasing the cost) due to the oversize nature of the box (too large to ship UPS or Fed Ex Ground).

wait.....so if I put a heat gun to the parts where it's bent outta shape it will estore it's natural shape?
It's as easy that?
Urethane
All urethane is heat sensitive. The best yuou can do is place the parts in a heated room and they bounce right back, BUT more importantly, urethene needs to be placed in the paint booth on high heat to allow the mold release to seep to the surface. This cleansing process allows the part to get back into shape and allows the mold release to be removed.
