You are not alone my friend. I also replaced the stillen "velocity lack" with the Franken supplied K&N filter and noticed a considerable difference.

i've thought abotu switching to silicone thingys but they cost twice as much as the hose, where did you get yours. i've seen blue adapters for as low as 5 bucks for 3 inches. and i'd love to see pics

I ordered them at a local shop for about $15. They match the red on my FSTB perfectly! I will get pics up tomarrow for you
