WTF...service engine soon?

yoo i was driving home today, i drove to SD and back, North County Mall..i live in chino hills, approx 90 miles, and i was at bout 5 miles from home and my "Service Engine Soon" light comes on...WHAT THE ****KKKKKKKKKKKKK? while driving i grabbed my owners manual and read that it might be cuz my gas cap is loose...so since i had to make a stop anyway, i checked the cap and it was a little loose...so i tightened it and im wondering is there anything else that i have that could potentially cause the light to come on? on the way to SD i drove my car well, on the way back i drove pretty hard...please lemme know

see if the light goes off. If it was just the gas cap being loose, according to others who have had that happen, it will go off after driving a few drives.

And if that doesn't do it, reset your ECU.

I had that happen to me in my 2000 Altima. I thought the gas cap as well but that wasn't it. One of your O2 sensors may have gone bad it's not a bad thing, and you can continue to drive your car like normal.

ok, i must have driven 50-60 miles easily today, with many stops; friends house, chilled; another friends house; and another 6-7 times i turned the car off and back on again and drove for atleast 5-10 miles...and the light is still there...should i just try unplugging negative pole on battery and see if that works? ill leave it overnight...and if that doesnt work, to the dealers then?
