Frankencar intake IN
Yeah, I know...someone else started the same post today, but I can't let that deter me from sharing my joy!!
The install wasn't as quick as I'd hoped, but fairly easy. The printed instructions (text only) that came with it left much to be desired. However, a quick trip to the Frankencar website and I printed out the instructions I found there (with pictures) and this helped tremendously!!
Awesome sound!!!! Very quiet at idle, normal driving, and highway cruising. Doesn't sound off (and oh boy does it sound off GOOD) unless you're at WOT. And I LOVE the way it sounds when you rev up the engine. Very, very, VERY nice!! Did I say NICE?!
I can't really notice much difference in acceleration off the line, but I might have felt a slight improvement on the highway, especially upwards of 90-120 mph. I should say that I think it would be very difficult to really feel any difference at ALL in a hp increase of less than 20 or so. So, I'm sure the intake is doing it's job, but I think it's a little unrealistic to expect to be able to feel such a small hp increase with a butt dyno!
Great job, Steve. And I love the way it looks inside my AE engine compartment.
The K&N filter matches the Merlot paint and the silver intake tube matches the AE engine cover!

I've also ordered a FSTB from Courtesy Parts, but they're on back order, so I'm just waiting on that too!!
