I also wanna know what a y-pipe is good for? I know hp, besides that, if there is any other reason. Also approx. how much HP can I expect to get from a Y-Pipe? Thnx

From what I've read, a y-pipe will free up 10-15hp from your engine. It should be combined with some sort of intake to maximize it's potential. The only other thing it's good for is wrecking that pesky ozone layer. The Cattman apparently will resist corrosion better than the Stillen. Someone mentioned that Warpspeed will soon have a y-pipe for the 5th gen also.

5th y-pipe

Just got off the phone Dallas. On Monday a 5th Gen is coming in for a final fitting. Dallas predicts we may have pipes ready sell by next week. The prices will be same as for the 4th Gen. The other news is we will be offering them non mandrel bent as well!! I will keep you posted.

Hey Dan, Stillen seems to have there Fed spec/Cali(same one) listed to fit 95-01. So if thats the case shouldent your 4th gen fed spec Y-Pipe fit 95-00 Fed spec max's? Or are the extractors differnt? But if that was the case how does stillen's fit both 4 and 5th gen's? Just a little confused

I think the extension is used for fed spec's and on a cali spec you remove the extension, I could be wrong though.

Our regular generation 4 Y pipe fits 95-99FED/CA and 2000 Fed, only difference is the 2000 has a different hanger for the rear of Y pipe on the 2000. The 99.5, 2000 CA are basically same as the 2001 (5th gen). We opted not to go the route Stillen and C*****n went using a one pipe fits all if you remove something deal. Too many complaints about leaky joints on the version that you leave the section in place, we didn't want to build in a problem when all we had to do is build another jig.

We will be testing a model shortly using 2-1/4" downpipes into a 2-3/4" collector and a 3" collector on a supercharged car to see which dyno's better when the outlet of the exhaust manifold is enlargened slightly to accomodate the 2-1/4" pipe.

I have a Cattman Y...and the thing is sweet! I would have like to get a WarpSpeed, but they were unavailable when my g/f bought the Cattman for me.
