Installing an auto shift ****

Has anyone tried to install a auto shift **** on a 5th gen? I was trying to do it earlier; got the screws off, the springs and the buttons out, but I can't get the whole assembly out. I've done this on my friend's accord and the shift **** just came right out. Anyone knows any tricks for this???

You'll need to get up underneath the shift console and disconnect the OD wires. The wires run from the bottom, right of the shift console, around some of the console supports, and up into the shaft. They are probably holding the **** in place preventing the **** from being removed. If you find the OD wires, you can unwrap them from all the crap under the shift console and can probably free up enough wire for the **** to come off.

You don't get under the transmission. You'll need to remove the center console to get to the base of the shift console. This is on top of the transmission...on the inside of the car. Pop out the surround piece which goes around the shift mechanism. This is the dark gray piece.

yup lots of screws should be 4 on each side of the driver and passenger seats, one in the storage compartment, one in the ashtray under that popout felt thing, that should be all the screws
