I would like to know if any one has started to make an ECU that will work in the 5th gen.. other than the stock ECU.. I have been puting together a turbo rig and Im not to shure about the stock ECU. Well if any one has a tip just let me know..

If you do a search, you should find plenty of info. There are some companies out there that modify our ECU's, like jetchip, but some argue that the gains are not worth it. One of the only companies that could do it right, is Jim Wolf, but from what I hear there are no plans to develop an ecu.

Turbo??? what are you doing?

Search will give you tons of info on this subject.

The best ecu for the maxima is the Haltech, but it costs $1145, plus it needs to be tuned. Jet makes one ($400) but I hear it's a piece of sh*t.

I recently spoke w/ Powerchips, in Austrailia. They are supposedly making a chip for the 5th gens, and planned to be done in late spring. I've read good things about their chips; but nothing specific to Maximas. Only time will tell if they can produce.

We may all have to wait for Nismo, and pray they will accomodate our Maxs.

I doubt any of the current companies would have fuel and timing maps that would work efficiently with a turbo kit (if you plan on more than 8-10 psi of boost). Your best bet is a stand-alone unit, like Haltech, Electromotive, etc
