Test drove CL-S 6 speed

All I can say is the thing pulls like crazy. When I was at about 5,000 RPM and the V-TEC started kicking it, the engine was saying..give me more ..give me more. None the less the salesman was egging me on to go faster ( although there was only 50 miles on the odometer). I didn't even make it into 6th gear before I was approaching 90! I'm happy with my Max for now, and I'm going to wait until the 2003 (new body comes out) until a make a move. The salesman was telling me I could get the CL-S with Navi for about 32.5K ..sticker was almost 34K. I am sure Nissan can put together a better value than this!

Re: Test drove CL-S 6 speed

Same for the auto, when that vtec kicks in, hold on! :P

Anyways, I want to test drive the 6spd, but I know what will happen if I do, so I am trying to stay away

I drove the automatic right after the 6 speed. I'm not saying it was bad, but the automatic was a lot less fun. The sequntial sport shift didn't even do it for me. It was kind of a "blah" experience after the manual.

While it is nice to know you enjoyed your test drives/purchases...

how often do we need to rehash the fact that a 2 door coupe and a 4 door sedan are NOT direct competitors...had this been a test drive story for a TL, it would be more appropriate in this forum...

Can't wait for the new Z to hit the streets which IS direct competition for the CL and see what comparisons are made! Just please not a hundred posts for the 2 in a Maxima forum!!

27,8k. They were getting rid of the 2002s at heavy discounts. Couldn't pass it up. I like 4 doors and 2 doors, 2 doors to me are more sporty, so in a way it makes me feel like I have a sports car, even though its just a luxury coupe.

What you need to do is go test drive a 2K2 Maxx.. your response sounds like my test drive on a 2002 Maxx.. This is coming from a owner of serious V-8 Muscle.... Test Drive the 2K2, and then get back to us..

right now you can get a 2k2 fully loaded 6sp SE w/ navigation system w/ a sticker of 32K and you can probably take it for around 28-30K

so I think that's a better deal by far

p.s. I'm one of the nissan salesman right now, I know, hehe, if you're in NE area, give me a buzz, I can hook you up

I'm with most people on this board. I can't believe you even LOOKED at a CLS knowing the G35 coupe is on its way. The CLS is so blah. The TLS even looks waaay better. Wait for the G35 coupe
