Sunroof Wind Deflector

My Max had the sunroof wind deflector on it on the lot. Anyone else have this thing on their car? I wanted to get it removed, but the wife liked it so I let it be. A friend of mine pointed out to me today the it has cracks around the base about every 2-3 inches around the entire deflector. I'm wondering if the installers tightened it down to much. Anyway, I'll probably get it removed this week by the dealer. The only downside to this is that I guess I'll have more wind noise with the sunroof open. The car is only two months old. Will I have any paint issues to deal with at the affected area??

At the time of purchase the deflector on my Maxima was cracked. A replacement ( off of another Maxima on the lot ! ) was put on and I took it off myself within a week. It's easy to remove. Loosen the 2 nuts and bolts and lift it off. Don't forget to peel off the protective adhesive tape. I don't like the deflector. Not so much the look but the debri that can accumulate behind it and it looks like eventually the roof paint won't age evenly due to part of the area being shaded by the deflector. The one problem that I had by removing the deflector was elliminating the mark that the deflector left on my roof. Plus there were a couple of surface marks next to the bolts that were no doubt made by a wrench at the time of installation. Buffing removed the deflector imprint but a few scratches and a couple of partial swirl marks can still be seen.

I used a deflector from a 02 Camry, it fits perfectly, has a nice rubber seal and is easy on/off.

I never had a deflector on mine, and the wind noise isn't actually that bad. It doesn't annoy me at all. No turbulance either.

Many people are hating this deflector. I thought it looked cool at first, but it actually makes the car look wierd on my Black color. It was removed and sold.
