Re: RT Cat dynos?

Nada. May not be that much, check out WillSE's dyno numbers in the stickies. He put an RT Cat, Intake and... not sure what the other one was, to get those numbers.

Thanks!

Btw, what's the disadvantage of installing this on a relatively new car? (In terms of performance, sound, emissions and legality)

The advantages are:

1) Minor improvement in performance. (Yeah, I know the dyno plots look impressive, but there's NO WAY you're going to pick up 14 hp like the guy in the 95 Maxima even with a full 2.5" catback system.)
2) No effect on sound.
3) No effect on emissions.
4) Illegal as hell . . . until you get it on.

The way it works is that no one can legally replace a working catalytic convertor for, I believe, the first 50K miles. The reality is, just about any muffler shop will be happy to install it for you. And once it's installed, it's legal. (Weird, huh?) Just keep your stock catalytic convertor for future reference.

Err. I'll skip that one

I also read from a site which listed all the weird laws that, amazingly, are still in effect.

Take Texas for example. If you publicly announce 3 times that the girl with you is your wife. By law, she's legally and automatically your wife.

Does that mean that in Texas, if you publicly announce 3 times that you want to divorce the girl with you, you're legally and automatically divorced? (Hell, if it works one way, it should work the other!)

The dynos on that site are for a 4th gen with the RT cat AND a full exhaust.

Not exactly a good comparison.

True. And even with that configuration, it's not worth 14 HP unless the original exhaust had been welded shut!
