When I bought my car i only got one key with it. Seeing as to how dumb I am as to lock myself out of my car with the keys in the car (hasn't happend YET in my Max) I bought an Anniversary Key and I was wondering if you can get it cut at the local hardware store and I was wondering if anyonw knew a way so that I can program the key to work with my car? Thanks.

 

I belive you only need to program it if you want it to start the car....otherwise you could just make a whole buncha keys to unlock the car...i keep a key on the outside of my car..in a hidden spot..for occations just like that. But if you want you key programmed go to your dealer

 

Thanks for your reply, I just did a search and it looks like I have to go the dealer to get it reprogrammed. Oh well. Hopefully It won't cost too much. Take care.

 

i actually dropped my key and the plastic part broke. the dealer told me $100 bucks for a new key. so i bought an anniversery key as well. i wonder how much they will charge me to get it programmed
