2k2 Fuel Door Problems

I went to fill my 2k2 Max up with Sunoco's finest today and when I closed the fuel filler door, I noticed that it wasn't aligned properly. It was so far out of alignment that it actually rubs against the upper part of the opening for the fuel door. It is also stiff to open or close. I took it to the dealership and the tech said that it has to do with the pin that the door rides on. They are supposedly quite susceptible to seizing over time (my Max is only 5 months old). He also said that they try to lube them whenever they do an oil change on the car - obviously they've missed mine, all three times it's been in for oil!!!!

Anyway, they are ordering a new door, getting it painted and installing, hopefully by mid next week.

Just a warning so you can get out the lube.
