Is mine a lemon

I have had my 2000 Maxy around 2 weeks, the throttle control valve or something goes bad causing the car engine to stay running anywhere from 1500 to 3000 rpms with my foot off the gas. I drop it off at the dealer and pick it up today and the clock doesn't work, the mileage trip odometer resets to 0 every time you shut the car off. and the automatic temperature needs to be turned on every time the car shuts off. Anyone have this before?

used?

I believe so...if there is any major problems (sounds like urs are) you can file a lemon car under the law.

did u buy ur car used? if u did, double check on carfax.com. just plug in the vin and see if there is anything major shows up

Its got 14,600 miles on it. Im trying to figure out what they did to have the other things happen after changing the throttle valve

Re: Re: used?

Also it seems you used the term "lemon" loosely, you could check the Lemon Law in your state. Usually it only applies to repeat defects which, even after several failed attempts from the shop to fix them, still make the car unsafe/inoperable.

Check it here: http://www.lemonlawamerica.com/

Look like I have the same problem you experienced,
The rpm would rise from 2400 and suddenly goes up to
4000rpm without hit the pedal even I used cruise control.
I have it fix after I went to another dealer for 3 times.

After it was fixed it seemed the tranny was not all that smooth after when shifting, warranty was running out in around 4 months, I traded it in for 2002 SE

Probably not.. if you read your manual.... the warranty booklet... there are guidelines to follow for claiming coverage under your states' lemon laws.

Check it out...
