Clutch Adjustment: Possible or not?

Just got my 2000 SE 5spd yesterday, and I was wondering if anyone knew if the clutch was adjustable or not.

I see it is a hydraulic clutch, and all the manual says is that if you have too much or too little free play (1" is optimal) to see your dealer.

I have about 2 or 3 inches of free play, and putting the pedal all the way to the floor makes quick shifting rather difficult.

Any ideas?

Don't worry that's how they are. They feel like if there is no clutch at all. When i get my first 2000 sunlit sand the clutch would catch from half way up and it adjusted by itself. I drove it close to 45000 miles and the clutch would still feels like brand new. Now on my 2001 SE my clutch feels the same. Thank GOD you have hydraulic. Once you drive it right shifting is easy, no need to manually adjust. I'm loving mine right now.....never drove any other car that shifting is so easy like b4...i heard the 2002 has cable clutch...that must be stiff...no hell

Yes, it's adjustable. I described it in detail here about a week ago. Look under the dash at the pedal linkage and it will be obvious.

THANKS! I'll take a look, and assuming your correct; I'm sure I can figure it out!

I have adjusted them via the pedal likage as described. You can get the pedal where you like it.
