Score marks on 3 of my rotors

Score marks have developed on my rotors, but the service guy had the mechanic look at them and claims this is ok and normal.

I've never seen such uneven wear in any other car I have ever owned, especially so early in it's life. They're usually mirror polished and smooth, with no dark areas of discoloration.

Just wondering what you guys think and if you have similar issues. The brakes do seem ok, bite very well and don't squeal. I consider myself a light to moderate user, I certainly haven't abused it with rapid decels and instant dime stopping experiences.

My car is now 3 months old, and just passed the 5000km/3000mile mark. Thanks

Can you feel the score marks with your finger? especially at the edges.

I have seen this before on other vehicles but usually when the pads are really new just after resurfacing the rotor, or with high mileage on the pads. When new, I figure it is the pads bedding in, but I've always wondered why this happens on high mileage pads/rotors. The surface is still smooth to the touch with no ridges.
Never seemed to affect braking performance, though.

Maybe it's due to normal variation of the material in the pads?
