Anyone read Sport Compact Car "JUNE"???!!!

"Comptech Supercharged Accord V6" and the same supercharger kit will be available for the CL/TL/and Type S. This isn't such good news. Dyno results have shown that on a V6 Accord the output at only a measly 4.5psi of boost was 231fwhp & 193lbs of torque! Imagine what the TL/CL type S is gonna put down....If the stock V6 Accord put down 231whp and they come with 200(flywheel) that means that the CL/TL-S will be close to 300whp... IMHO, this looks like a pretty good challenge for the SC-d Maxes 00-01 but not a problem if we can supercharge the 2k2... Just wanted to share some friendly info...HONA/ACURA ....

what the...4.5psi gave them almost 70 hps?

but why the hell is their torque still so low? i have more tq than a supercharged Accord?

i don't think 02 needs to be supercharged to beat a supercharged accord..but the TL/CL-Ss...yeah..i guess it's needed..

If they are using a roots blower, that thing should put out a ton of torque.

I have a similar blower on my Mustang GT(Kenne Bell) and it is only 5psi and it cut my 1/4 mile times by 1.1 seconds and 9 mph increase. That would be around 90-100 RWHP increase.

Compression ratios

According to my friend, the CL Type S already has a 10.5:1 compression ratio. Stick a turbo on that and BOOM! In order to get the turbo to work on the CL-S engine, they'll have to do some major work to get the compression ratio down to around 8.5:1.

Even the regular CL has 9.8:1 compression ratio, which is still too high for turboing or supercharging.

Lucky us

Well, one bad thing about the SC is that it's gonna cost somewhere between $4500-5000, plus they recommend getting headers and exhaust, another $1700. That's a lot of money for 70HP.

Oh yea? be like kevin and switch out the pulley. 70hp? What 70hp? 70hp per 1000rpm increments?

Accord V6 auto trannys are notoriously weak anyway. Add another 70hp and..........BOOM. So, theoretically to get the most the Accord owner would have to do a Level 10 upgrade to the tranny. Thats at least $1500.00 there. On top of the say $4000.00 for a S/C and $1500.00 for headers and exhaust to get the most out of it. That makes the 16.1 sec (estimate of averages) 1/4 mile V6 Accord MAYBE a 14.5 second Accord. Just trade that Accord and get a CL-S 6spd or better yet a 2K2 Max 6spd! Either way, I'll be in the 13s next track day with my 2K2 so I dont have much fear of any Accord (well, maybe one with a 500 shot of nitrouse).

For some reason...

Our VQs just seem to work better with boost. Turbo97SE was running 267 fwhp with around the same boost level. Kinda makes you wonder...

But turbos are more efficient (use waste to make power). They don't need to make power with power (SC's are belt driven, so power is lost).
