Hi Max-gang,

Just wondering how everyone feels about a hood deflector for a 2k Max? I've never seem one and would appreciate any pics you might have?

I might be getting my black Max's hood re-painted, because of all the stone chips, and I've heard bad things about car bras leaving water damage to the paint. Is a hood defector a good idea?

Your 2 cents appreciated...

i have one

....on my 2K Max. It is nicely styled to flow with the curves of the hood-line, but not in an exaggerated way. The guy who sold it to me put in on....looked at it and said.." man does that ever make your car look meaner".I dont know about meaner...but it does sort of give it a more aggressive appearance.. I LIKE it!...sorry..no pic..but I think it's made by a company called FOCUS. I could find out more for you, if your interested. Drop me a note

found it!

if you check out this link, It'll show you the Focus bug deflector on a couple of cars..one I believe is a Civic, but you'll get the general idea. This is a canadian site. My deflector cost me around $80.00, canadian, so with the exchange rate, you ought to be able to get it for around $40.00 U.S. happy hunting:

If you care for the paint properly ..

a bra will not harm it. I've been using a bra on my cars for quite some time. I always take it off when wahing the car to brush off the dust/crap that gets under it. I then squirt the underlining of the bra with the hose to clean debri off of it also. Always always make sure that the paint surface under the bra is waxed well. This will prevent water damage.

Just my opionion !

You can get the 3M ClearMask kit for the 2K Max. It is a transparent 6 mil thick plastic shield that is semi-permanently applied to your bumper and part of the hood. Check out the group deals forum for more info on it. I received mine, but have not had a chance to install it yet.
