Tetors Model Paint

My friend just did his 318is.
He used Candy Apple Red Testors model paint.
Take out the lights, tape off everything except for the turn signal (clear on the 2k-2k1, amber on the 2k2) and paint away...usually it will need a couple of LIGHT coats. Don't go bananas or you won't see the light of the turn signal.
I'm planning on doing mine. Just can't find the time.
I don't know why Nissan didn't make that taillight completely red!

I was talking about the lense, not the bulb. I don't know if you can take out the amber part. I imagine you cannot.

Do a search...someone here tried alreay, Emax I think. It was not to successful and the tailights ended up being a total loss.

Can't I just find a reflector company that could make that piece.

The 2k2 tails don't look that bad at night. The red light actually kinda reflects through the orange lense & it looks like a big round red lense from a distance... kinda... Besides, orange is safer than red for switching lanes

In the daylight you can see the orange part, of course.

2002 tail lights are pressure fitted together and seem to also be melted together so that they are one piece. There is no glue involved so it is pretty mutch impossible to do. I would love it if some one could figure out a way to make it work, I failed to many times trying and for now I have given up.

Do you think they made them. It looks like a little difference in red colors from the pic.
