word, but its more likely theyll have "hunks of metal with holes" for us than a SC! id rather wait and get what i really want (nismo fstb/rsb) than splurge now on something im going to trash in a few months.

but, if i were a millionaire, wait, forget that...

I bought the OBX FTSB too!
I received it Friday, and installed it Saturday.

Looks nice, fits o.k.. Although, when unscrewing the end bolts that attach to the endplates, I tought they were going to come out completely. I removed them completely to check how much thread was left, didn't want it to break off or anything.

With this and my new Maxspeed springs, my car handles nicely!!

That thing looks almost like the bar i bought off "directcarparts" on E-Bay except the OBX has the holes in them and the etched logo.

Otherwise - the endplates, the bar design, ends, etc. look the same.

Makes me wonder if the one i have is an OEM for the OBX before they "customized" it.

Your choice is a matter of personal taste, of course. But the same logic applies to purchasing, say, an HKS rear section versus having one custom-made around a Magnaflow SS muffler. They both work, they both look good and they both sound good. But one costs less than half as much as the other. The only real difference is in the status garnered by being able to mutter "HKS" around your friends and associates while getting them to drool in response. The question is, how much is status worth to you?

What has been proven time after time in this forum is that a FSTB is a FSTB, period. It really doesn't matter whose name is on it provided it's reasonably well-made.

Given how much Nissan charges for parts (and, I assume, Nismo will follow in its footsteps), it doesn't make much sense to purchase a Nismo product when an aftermarket product exists that performs as well, looks as good, and doesn't affect your warranty. Nevertheless, I notice that people still purchase Stillen FSTBs. So to them, paying more than twice as much as they need to is worth it.

Interestingly, there are a small number of individuals on this forum who grant status, often silently, to those who make cost-effective purchase decisions rather than spend too much on name-brand products simply for the "glory" of it. But we are decidedly in the minority.

Send us pics when you get your Nismo FSTB installed.

lcf...isnt it hard to fight with that urge to buy mods? I have been lurking around for quite a while.....and my only major mod is RSB (the deal was too good to let go). I was fighting with that urge of modding cars when PRCAI and pop chargers were out. but now, I think there are more goodies for our car compared with what we had 1 year ago. Nismo parts are everybody's dream, where u open up ur hood, u have Nismo this and Nismo that. Plus the Nissan warranty that comes with it (hopefully) But I questioned about their availabilities and price....like y2kse said.... I wont pay 200 something for a FSTB, even though I know 200 is not a lot if u save for it.

btw....what the hell happened to ur window??
reported to cops and get ur insurance to work on it?

i understand what youre saying. im buying a berk tuning intake bc of the price is awesome, not because its the most $$$$ one out there and its definitely not a "name brand." i dont automatically assume costly equals quality, not at all.

however, i would like to get some nismo mod's when the come out! why? because it'd be cool. im sure you understand what im saying... just like how its cool to buy a new car when it first comes out. youre lying if you tell me that it wouldnt feel really good to be driving around in your brand new shiny g35 right now!

its status, you are correct. but i choose my battles, if i were all about status i would be driving a bimmer 318ti or something, hehe.
