I noticed that Steve says that Stage III and IV are in progress on his website, but I haven't heard of any updates in the last month or two. Has anybody custom fabricated a heat shield for their frankencar intake? Does anyone know of the Stage III and IVs progress?

I plan on making a scoop out of carbon fiber... dunno if it can stand the heat though... anyone? (or how about fiberglass?)

I think fiberglass would be a better choice for a high heat situation. Let us know the design schematics...if you wish to disclose that...lol.

hmm... I was thinking of doing something like a the stock air scoop method but having it 6-7" deep. only problem is then it would be getting air after it passes through the radiator. which wouldnt be cool anymore... would it?

I added a little dryer duct to mine so that air flow is directed to the filter--I took it off last week and haven't had the chance to put it back--I wouldn't know where to begin on a heat shield but I'm VERY interested if any one comes up with something

I'm dissapointed with myself. I can't think of a god damn thing, sometimes my slowness amazes me.

Let me know if it works out soundmike. I have a sheet of fiberglass ready for creating molding. If carbon fiber works out I can make the enclosures for however much it costs me to make them (nice arent i).
