Is now a good time to get a maxima?
I am currently leasing a 1999 Jeep Cherokee and the lease is soon expiring. I am thinking of getting a Maxima and was wondering if now is a good time to get one? I thought I read on here a little while back that they were coming out with a special edition maxima in may? Has it been confirmed? Any and all opinions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

I would call the local dealers see if they are willing to show the invoice price and of course....offer u somewhere near that price. Then tell then which model and options/color that u want see if they have it in stock. They are usually easier on that every summer....since they have to empty their lot.
the most recent special edition maxima that I have heard is the Ann. Edition. that was 2k1. or maybe I am outdated.

The final 5th gen max (or as i'd call it 2002.5) will be a special edition dubbed as "Titanium" by some people here at the Org.
I've spoke to several people at my local dealership who have confirmed so but they're unsure what the differences will be.
As people have theorized, it's probably just going to be some minor cosmetic changes.
As to when's the right time to buy a Max? Now could be a good bet. Or at least by the end of the year - b4 the 2003/4 redesigned max comes out.

Re: Is now a good time to get a maxima?
I think now is a good time. I bought my car in January and got a really good deal ($3.5K off MSRP and 3.9% financing).
I recently went back to a different dealer for service, and inquired about a possible trade for a 6-speed. They still had the 3.9% up to 60 months and was willing to trade for $70 more a month! (I didn't trade, wife was going to kill me )
They are really wanting to move these cars off the lot! My experience is that every dealership is different, but now seems to be a great time to buy a Maxima.
Good luck!

Would you consider a used Max? If so check out this thread: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=115915 where a member is selling his Supercharged 2K for $18,500! Thats not a bad deal at all. I think the reason he's selling is beacuse he bought a bimmer.

Now seems like a pretty good time to me. I just bought a 2k2 6speed last Friday. I got $500 over invoice and 3.9% financing with no haggling whatsoever. The dealers here in Phoenix have TONS of 6 speeds. I only saw 2 auto SE's on the entire lot out of about 75 SE's.
