2k2 gauge pillar

Does anyone have detail picture of a 5th gen with pillar guages.
I want to put some on mine, but I would like to see if its possible to put an all new pillar or would I have to use the singles, and how would they look.

Sorry, no full pillar gauges. You can use either single or double pods off a pre-94 Eclipse/Talon.

Because someone (aka, AutoMeter) doesn't think we represent a big enough market opportunity to manufacture one.

Yup, they don't fit perfectly.

If you are racing on the highway, you don't really pay attention to the gauges. I glance over at all three gauges when I know nothing is in front of me (while racing).

I can make one out of fiberglass or carbon fiber for you guys (full pillar)... but I doubt you would like that. What material is used for the stock pillar.

Carbon fiber?!?!?!

Why would I not like it? If you can duplicate the stock pillar (with tweeter location), I would buy it.

The stock pillar is plastic.

Ok. I have to order more fiberglass to make the mold. I'll try to hurry up. It takes the mold 2 weeks to cure though (long time...). After that I will use my 2K2 Pillar and make the first carbon fiber replica. Also, would you guys want to replace both pillars to make it even?

Once this is done I will make pillars for whoever needs them @ my cost the first few times. This might take a few weeks though, so be patient with me

edit: what i meant to say it i will charge only what it costs to make

Sure, I would be willing to sport your work if you can integrate the gauge pods, tweeters, and snap in clips (behind the pillar).

hmmm... any suggestions on how I would get the pods, etc on there... Just realized something. I am good at making replacements parts out of CF but never designed a part... I can carve shapes out of foam core. I can take a current pod and modify it to fit then make the pillar out of that (the mold)... But wondering how I would do the 4. Suggestions?

Not too take anything away from Melteye, but to offer another alternative, take a look at gaugepods.com. He offers to make a full pillar replacement for most vehicles. He will need a minimum of 20 orders, and a pillar to clone. A friend of mine has his pillar for his GTP, and I must say, it does look pretty good. The grain matches and everything. I'm not too sure about the tweeter grille, but if you ask, I'm sure he'll let you know.

BUT, the carbon fiber would look pretty bad ***, and you'd be supporting (and supported by) an .org member.

Just an alternative. I hope you're not offended, Melteye.

Not at all. Makes it easier on me

I will make one carbon fiber pillar (both sides) and put it on my car and take pics to see if you like them.

I don't see why it would offend me, after all I wasn't trying to make a profit here.

If you have some sort of tweeter grill, retain the stock tweeter location/bracket, and have plastic clips in the right spots (I need these to hold the gauges in place), I'll send you a single pod for you to integrate into your mold.

So far I got the mold done... It's curing now. Only problem is I don't know how I'm going to keep the clips.

Any suggestions on how to keep or make clips attatch to fiberglass/carbon fiber(I will most likely be using a thin layer of fiberglass covered in carbon fiber).
