BMW 325i

Does anybody have accurate stats on the 325i? My friend says auto 325i does 0-60 in 7.2 which sounds like BS, and he also said stock 325i's are louder then a maxima wid a frankencar intake.......anybody have stats?

Max will get the 325i on 0-60, but would get killed in turns, and above 90. An M3, however, would spank the max, and most high performance cars.

What is with this myth about "top-end blah blah blah" I hear it from honda owners and bimmer owners ALL FRIGGIN DAY.

There are VERY FEW cars, that pull as hard as the maxima of any generation does from 80-130. This is the sweet spot of all maximas. The max has the displacement advantage and the weight advantage over the 325 and will pull in all gears.

And unless the max is modded, yes he will get OWNED in the turns.

A good friend of mine has one of these and always wants to race me but won't go to the dragstrip. He always wants to go to some road where he can get me in the turns and where I will kill myself trying to keep up in my GLE suspension. Anyway, BMWUSA says 0-60 times are "7.1(8.1)" I guess the 8.1 means automatic. So then these cars may look awesome, especially with clear corners, but they aren't that fast.

my friend has that exact same car with a intake.... 2001 325Ci auto..... when i first got my car (6 speed) he wanted to see how he could do! needless to say he has very bright HIDs in my auto dim rear view..... i want to say that i had him by 10-12 cars to 100mph he was shocked how fast my car was..... when i had my old max 2001 auto with mods me and my friend raced and i only beat him by 2-3 cars..... in the turns stock to stock BMW wins.... max with suspension mods like springs struts sway bar strut tower brace should be able to hold up with a 325 in the twisties if he has no suspension mods! BMWs look nice and are a pimp kind of car and quiet as hell...... OH and about the whole part about being louder than a MAX that is the biggest crap i have ever heard! my friend let me drive his car and i put it in tiptronic mode and drove around and i honestly couldnt hear the car to hear how loud the car was revving i looked at the tach and i was cruising around a 5k rpms i was like **** i need to shift (tap the gear shift)! all in all if u want women get a BMW if u want a fast car get a max..... if u want to waste ur money get a BMW! my friend paid 36k for his 2001 325ci auto!

will

You guys should check carpoint.msn.com. Not sure how accurate their specifications are, but they seem to be the same as what the manufacturers claim.

All the models of the 2001 325 (i, Ci, Xi) have 2.5L 184HP V6.
Difference is the weight: ranges from 3200-3700.

0-60 in 7.2 is possible. Car and Driver posted 6.5 secs for the 1999.

I just paid 37K for my 2k2 BMW 330i with sport package, bixenons, moonroof, harmon kardon, & metallic paint. I don't know if you've test drove the 330i but it has a SWEET exhaust note and engine growl. I can't wait!! Mine left Germany on the boat on 4/25 and should be in S. Carolina on 5/9 which will hopefully put it at my dealer a week later. I'll have to hook up with some of yall after I break in my baby and see how she does against the 2K2 maxima. I would expect a 6 speed max to be a great race and possibly win out but hey will have to see about our driver skills. Later.

Just about all the mags and printed material have the 330Ci about .3-.4 seconds quicker in 0-60 than the 330i. I've seen 0-60 times for the 330s anywhere from 5.9-6.4 seconds and 1/4 mile times in the mid to high 14 second range. I had two dealers biding against each other and managed to get $1200 knocked off MSRP, which I was happy with considering BMW typically doesn't discount very much off the MSRP.

The gearing in an auto at 80 is pretty good, if I remember correctly if you floor it you'll go into third at around 4500 RPM's, this is a good power area... In a six speed, fuggetaboudit

Of course i'm comparing all of this to a 325. Compare to a 540, it's a completely different story
