Just took my one month old 2k2 in for a few items.
Asked them to look into the excessive amount of wind noise, their response "comparable with other Maximas". They say they have never heard this complaint on any other Maximas, and no, Nissan has never issued any bulletins or information on it.
Asked them to fix the rattle I have in the left front. They didn't, it is still there but they did manage to put a nice gouge and scratches into the A-pillar cover.
They did manage to straighten the steering wheel cover.

Hey, I'm just thankful I don't have any transmission or clutch problems, but I thought these little problems could be resolved easily. Guess not.

hey, I have seen that one before. Just wondering why the damn Nissan dealer had not? Guess I'll try this fix on my own. thanks.

Let me know if you do hear anything on the door seals. How about inflatable door seals like on pressurized airplanes, that should tighten things up?

Print it out & show it to your dealer & they should fix it...

Inflatable door seals?... that sounds crazy... but worth looking into

Hiya! Yes, they should... only because Nissan doesn't seem to address the issues, before they rollout the new model...

If they give you BS... tell them you'll take it to another dealership, and make sure you can name at least one other dealership in the area!

Serious problem

I notice this wind noise too on my 2k2, it seems harmless enough, but then it seems even noiser than my 94 camry, and I think that's BS and feel 'Ripped-off'.

I need more support on this....since the nissan guys are sly and I am definitly not good at debating these things.

So anyone out there actually gotthe problem fixed and had their max 'sound' like an expensive car??

On my 2000 GXE, I got the door seals TSB done and the brake/rotors/etc REPLACED under the 30K warrantee. Night and day difference on the cabin noise; and the braking is smooth and controlled (no shaking). I went to a western Maryland dealer out in the sticks. They did a great job but it took 2 months to get the parts, and 2 days to install them. Well worth it & completely covered under warrantee.

I haven't noticed any wind noise in my 2k2. Is it only happening to a few cars, or did they fix it after a certain build date. Mine was built last December. Maybe I am just deaf and don't notice it...

I think I am going to nail my dealer on the wind noise. If they don't want to do it, I will go to the dealer I took my '94 to.

The tsb for wind noise is for 2k and 2k1. I got it done and its great. Basically they replaced the seal on the little metal bar that seperates the two rear windows. Nothing to do with the door seals.
