ok...clarification required...

im loooking at getting the KYB-AGX real soon...but i thought i knew what i was supposed to buy, but now im confused.
the site says:

"
Cattman Performance-Modified KYB AGX

Adjustable Struts 1995-1999 Maxima/I30; All AGX-5 / 4

Set of 4 KYB AGX adjustable struts (Cattman part #AGX-4) modified to fit the 2000+ Maxima/I30; installation requires minor modification of stock upper front strut mounts or replacement with same part from 1995-1999 Maxima series (Cattman #NISFM). The AGX adjustables are the most effective and versatile struts available for the Maxima/I30 today.
"
am i just supposed to get these, and then grind off 2mm from the top and it fits?

from what i hear, you will need to grind a bit off of the strut mounts unless you get the KYB mounts. At least that's what I know... i been gone a while

I got an email from Cattman on the subject today. He recommends the Moded Struts ($450) and the dustboots/bumpstops ($50). In order for them to fit properly on 5th gens can either grind a little of the strut mounts or buy a set of 4th strut mounts ($75).

Unanswered for me are the terms of the warranty. KYB's is lifetime, but what about Catt's moding them?

Also, have heard it takes some time for them rear to settle down on the struts. This may depend on the springs?
