ok i want to put HIDs in my 2000 max. what do i need to buy/do in order to get the going? i have seen a few kits for sale but will the HIDs fit right inot the factory H4 area? are tehy going to be too hot for the headlight fixture? am i going to need to splice/cut wires? will i loose my High beams? do i need to alter the factory headlamp so not to blind other drivers? i need help if anyone feels like helping me out, i thank you. i guess i need prices and instuction.

Check out the stickies at the top of the 5th gen forum page ... probably the Installation stickie .. that is assuming you buy the 2k2 HID's ...

 

a friend of mine who owns a 2000 max had one installed about few months ago. he made a patch cord btwn the 2000 harness and oem HID lamps.

you need:
2x 2k2 mounting clips
2x oem hid lamps
2x 2k2 hid connectors
2x 2k2 highbeam connectors
2x 2k H4 connectors
2x 2k side signal lamp sockets
some wiring lomb
follow one of the 2k2 write-ups and you should be fine...

it should look something like this:

you also need 2x 2k2 turn signal connectors

all of which you can buy from DaveB

without splicing wires and going with the patch cord:
fogs do turn off when you flash high beams
setting off the alarm does flash the high beams (bad for bulbs)

that's about it. it looks and feels like the 2k2 that i have. you might want to do some aiming since i've noticed that they are aimed a little high from the install than from the factory.
