Awesome Highway Race...

I raaced a 240 with a Sylviaa kit, he was LOUD ! I pulled next to him, dropped to 3rd, on the AUTO... did a few bursts next to him.... he flashed his high beams, and it was aon..we gunned it from about 70 MPH ! That freakin 240 was LOUD ! We were dead even going into 100..when I started to pull away, by about a full car as we hit 125...My car handled AWESOME.." Maxspeeds, and a FSTB" .... This 240 was FAST, and loooked GREAT !.. He had VOLK wheels, looked like 18's......great Nissan power race !

Good kill

Chalk up another one for the autos. Did you hear a blow off valve or any whistling noises? That car runs 16 flat in the 1/4. Must've had a power adder or you would've taken him sooner.

I remember from when I used to race my Stang , to listen for that sound, to know how good my kill was.. LOL... Turbo or not, I would usually win. My windows were up, and sunroof was down, and I was blasting Linkin Park, so I didnt really hear much, except my powertech , and Berk Intake..... Cant really testify to power adders.....The car loked awesome though.. he did need some new headlights..those things were YELLLOW ! He had custom paint blend. Couldnt quite tell, since it was Late at night ! ... Nice to see Nissan VS Nissan roaring down I-15 at over 120+ !!

main power adder of a 240 is a engine swap SR20DET (turbo japanese engine out of the silvias over there)...... u had to have raced one of these with just exhuast (not to take aways from you)! my friend has one almost exactly like the one that u described here in GA dynoed with 325rwhp at 19psi..... he can get 12s in the 1/4 but he has way more done than just a swap! he can take out FAST cars on the highway.... he beat a ZO6 on the highway by about 1-2 cars! good race!!!

will

Hey , If I was racing that car you mentioned, I would have been waving BYE BYE real fast ! I personally am a big fan of that 240 model, they look real sharp, and perform well.... This guy had Skyline tailights...when I let him pass me the first time, I actually thought it might be a skyline, ( cause Im ignorrant to Imports ) , but after looking at it for a few seconds, I knew he was not, and after beating him, Im sure it was not. I think, if Im not wrong, Skylines are Right side DRIVE ??.... Oh, Im not trying to DISS 240's with this post, just realting a close race by a 2K2vs a 240 ! Lot closer than any civic has done !

It sounds like to me that you raced 240SX with bolt ons and a power adder like a 50 shot of NO2. That most likely would have put his car in your territory. Just FYI the late model 240SX had a 2.4L DOCH 4cyl rated at 155hp@5600 and 160tq@4400. I seem to remember hearing there is an aftermarket turbo kit available but not sure about a supercharger kit. Maybe you'll see the guy again and be able to ask him.

there was a similar 240 in greenville SC sylvia kit and was bright red and loud as hell we had a run from about 60 to 120 on the hwy and i beat him by about 3 car lengths but the thing is i was in my 93 se and he was just show and no go but lond as hell. I saw the car about a week later he worked at a bowling alley and he had changed all his logos to sylvia and had a crazy kit and wheels but he couldn't even touch my old 93 se i'd probably get 8 cars on him now.
