I went to the dealer last week to fix that rotor problem, and he said that they will cut them to get rid of the vibration I get when braking.
I told them that some people, (speaking from what I heared from people here), got the brand new rotors installed.

I don't really care for new rotors, just want to get rid of that vibration.

Should I push them to give me new rotors? The service guy said something that Nissan won't pay for new rotors.

Dany I had my rotors cut on June, paid $100 then b/c I was over 12K miles. then I had the same problem about a month ago and went back to the dealer, didn't pay this time b/c its been less then 12K miles since the last service on breaks, but they cut them again and installed new pads. I have a feeling its gonna warp again since they have cut them twice already. so eventually they are gonna have to give me rotors b/c these things will warp again b4 12K miles.

It might be hard to push for new Rotors from the dealer but U can try.

Had all four of mine resurfaced at around 10,000 miles. There was no charge since it was still under warranty.

After I got the rotors resurfaced, it felt like the brakes lost their bite and they feel almost spongy. What should I do? Is it time for new pads?

Well I didn't have to push them, they just went ahead an replaced them? From what you can see above, resurfacing is only a temporary solution. To be honest I'm sure that new ones are only a temp solution as well but it should give me more time than if they had been resurfaced.

If they won't give you new ones, let them resurface them and you have an even stronger case for new ones next time if they warp again... Whatever you do, don't waste your money buying new rotors from Nissan. If you have to BUY new ones the factory set is NOT the way to go! Although that's probably obvious after reading all these posts.

good luck

My dealer is replacing mine. They didn't even test drive it. I told them the symptoms and they are going to replace the rotors.

Have the dealer put the new rotors on. I had my Max for less than a week before the warpage appeared. Less than 300 miles. I told the Manager that I was not happy with having new rotors turned, using some of the allowable metal. He installed new rotors. So far after 10 miles they are fine :>)

Get the new rotors if you can.

What is the cause of the warping in the first place? Is it the over-torqued lug nuts? How does a car with only 300 miles have warped rotors, and what is to stop this from happening again in another 300 miles?

I do not know. I have overtorqued lugs before and never had rotors warp. Just go to any garage and you will find they all over tighten for liability concerns.

I have a question for all. After driving some 6-7 miles last night in the rain, I pulled into the garage and heard a sizzle sound from the passenger side. I found that water was dripping on the front brake rotor and it sizzled. I know rotors run warm, but I was very easy on the brakes. Question, is this a normal temp? The driver side was almost as warm. I feel as though this is a high temp condiditon and may explain the warped rotors. The brake caliber is not releasing.

I drove to work this morning, 6 miles, and felt the rotor. luke warm, thats the way it should be. Maybe I was using the brake more than I think.

What do you all think?
