maxtor....

you need to pack it in man... if you want facts, here they are...

the s4 is packing 250hp, 258 lb/ft torque @ 300lbs fatter than the max...whether its stick or auto, the max will take it... the max has no falloff after peak on its powerband...one of the things that nissan is almost exclusive in

the s4 will launch better, any awd will... as for the turbo argument, unless this guy had a beefy one cooled well, he's not doin a thing...

also, NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT RUNNING THEIR CAR ON THE TRACK IN THIS THREAD...your argument has no validity...let the man drive the way he wants....if he had posted a kill on a modded dsm, i might call bulls@#t, but he didn't...

NICE KILL DANY

You better back up there. Most VQs fall off like a rock after there power peak around 5000rpms or so. I dont know what gives you the idea that it continues on steady to redline. Maybe a 3rd gen VE, but not the VQ. Mine, like some others, are called high end breathers since we seem to have gotten the lucky few that dont fall like a rock after 5500rpms. It still falls off noticeably after 5900 or so, but not as bad as some do. Most 'high end breathers' are shown from there consistent 97-99 mph traps as opposed to the 94 or so traps from the typical VQ.

maximus, i was speaking about 2k2's in general, granted some will outperform others...i've driven them on the highway and seen them on the track...they are pretty steady performers, and the results are similar across the board...of course there will be variations based on the driver, climate, road conditions, etc...but that's what makes it a street race, right...and ultimately, thats what we're talking about...general performance on the street.

Okay. It seems that the 4th gen VQ lost ALOT of power after 5.5Krpms. A friend of mine ('VeeTec') ran his best times in his 97 5spd by shifting at redline on the 1-2, at 6K on the 2-3, and at 5.5K on the 3-4. It does seem however that the 2K2 breathes better than the 4th gen all around, especially up high. I guess this is from the variable intake or what not. Ofcourse, some 2K2s breathe better than others up high. I do admit, the 2K2 does pull very hard on the highway too. I have killed many a rice boy on the highway from this. I thought there magical vee-tech (misspelled on purpose) was suppose to equal 100psi?????

S4's suck

I raced an S4 with my 1st generation maxima with just an intake, in 1st gear he had me by a little bit, maybe 1/2 a car length...then i hit second gear, and I pulled 8 CAR LENGTHS on him, he didnt stand a chance, then when i hit third gear i was at 120 miles an hour, I couldn't even see him anymore, so i thought i would slow done a little...5 minutes later i see him pass me at about 90 miles an hour.....talk about slow pickup, I'd never own one of those Audi's.....

an S4 is faster than a 2k2 max--however, as we all now anything can happen on the street so quit all your about who's lying and who's not--and maxtor: have you ever posted anything good about a maxima? keeping people in check is good but there's no need to call BS and dis on the max--this is a maxima enthusiest site in case you haven't notice--Dany never said he can smoke an S4 at the track, he pulled on one on the highway--and I never said anything about smoking 330s, I've said a gazillion times that is a close race but from my experiences the 330 has lost more times than not NO EXCUSES

I'd just love to see you post something positive and informative for once but I highly doubt that willl happen--everybody here contributes something to the maxima community except you
