Aluminum or...?

Does anyone know what the 5th gen emblems are made out of? I mean I know the backings are plastic, but the shiny chrome looking part like on the word MAXIMA or SE... Are they... anyone?

Re: Aluminum or...?

I have my trunk repaired before and they took off the emblems b/c they had to repaint it....it is just plastic. I doubt nissan would spend that much to add a metalic piece onto a plastic base.

40+ views and one answer? maxi- thanks for the response. Tell me what you think about this idea. I actually shaved my rear end on the max of course. And what I want to do now is have the front nissan emblem and chrome trim around the grill done in black chrome? I think it would also look good if I did the door handles... Maybe even around the chrome trim around the window? Opinions?

I think so....except the grill....I think silver edge looks better than the SE chrome. But our silver handle (GXE GLE) sure looks plastic to me.

u debaged ur end? I mean ur maxima's end?

I spent the whole day looking for a place that chromes black, and there is not place in San Diego that does it. I will look in LA if I have the patience tomorrow...
