Problem w/ Moonroof Motor

Anyone ever here of this? The motor seems to stick. Instead of just holding down the switch, I have to open to roof a little at a time. The dealer says I need a new motor. ($292.00) Is there any other fix for this?

Thanks.

Sorry, I had the same problem.... I had the motor replaced under warranty. It seems like many Maxima owners have had this problem.

The only problem i've encountered with the roof is it not responding. In which case I just put it to the home/closed setting and try again. But never had to open it incrementally like you said.

Aren't you still under warranty? Most likely not and it sucks - this is another good item in 2k "problem basket" that should be covered by warranty. Too many folks having similar problem.

Mike.

Happened to me too

No worries, at least yours didn't get stuck OPEN like mine did I was steamed to say the least. The motor was on back order so they had to manually get it shut. So, here have been my 2K warranty issues:

1. Transmission slip
2. Blower motor
3. Window roll-up slow (replaced liner)
4. Replace leather on passenger seat (the brand from the cattle was in the leather...BIG "F")
5. Sunroof motor
6. Replace console around the shifter
7. Resurface rotors
8. Replace bumper mounts - caused scratches on bumper from teh trunck decklid
9. Repainted bumper
10. Repainted hood due to rock pits (took some work but they painted under warranty)

NOW MY CAR IS FINALLY WHAT I THOUGHT IT SHOULD BE WHEN I PAID 30K FOR IT
