Hi Everybody,

I just picked up a 2001 SE 5-spd a few weeks back and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the ratios are for each of the tranny gears. Can't find that info on the web easily.

Thanks,
Dan

Got my answer

I did some more digging and found the answer myself. In a Car and Driver road test of an early 2k model (tested in '99) they listed the ratios I was looking for. They are as follows, in case anyone was interested besides me.

Gear Ratio Max Speed
1st 3.29 38 mph
2nd 1.85 68 mph
3rd 1.27 99 mph
4th 0.95 132 mph
5th 0.80 140 mph

Or downhill...LOL!

But it's true, I witnessed a 2k 5spd with the speedo pegged at 160 on a dyno (no wind resist.), amazed me how accurate the speedometer was at that speed.

I can list the gear ratios for a 2k from the ESM. Should we presume the manual trans is the same for a 2k and 2k1?

1st 3.285
2nd 1.850
3rd 1.272
4th 0.954
5th 0.795
R 3.428
