window and trunk question
window and trunk question
i know others have posted about the windows screeching before and have posted that silicone grease on the liner will take care of this but i went to my local autozone today and the guy just looked at me strange. what should i specifically be asking for?
also, my trunk has developed a chevy-esque creeking when it swings up. i went to see if i could add some grease to the hinge/joint but i couldn't see where it's attached to the car or where the moving parts come together. any help??
thanks guys.

You will be amazed at how well the window works after you spray the stuff in the track. That fix will last a few months and you will have to do it again.
The silicone spray might work on the trunk hinges too. I haven't had that problem yet.

Silicone Spray definently does the trick on the window screeching. I got mine at Home Depot. Just ask for Silicone Spray Lubricant.

By track you mean what exactly. I bought the silicone spray from Napa yesterday, but didn't apply it was raining.

window has to be down all the way..spray it into the corner closest to the outside mirror..do NOT spray on the window itself...only the track

What fixed mine was to spray the stuff in the track where the window edge slides up and down. If your sitting in the car it would be by your ear. See picture

wow, I thought it was just me who had this squeking problem. does anyone have a pix of the "track" that you're suppose to spray? Cuz I would think it would get on the closed window if you sprayed in the cornor near the outside mirror.

I'm going to try it out, if it doesn't work I'll try Suds idea.

is there something special about the silicone spray stuff or will any 'dry' lube work? i'm thinking about just trying the white lightning lube that's for bicycle chains since it leaves a teflon trail. any thoughts?
