turbos

Well I wrote greddy and asked them if they would consider making a turbo kit for are maxima's. They wrote back and said that we don't have a turbo kit for the maxima and not one in development but would definitely pass on my request. I hope they will consider it.

You are missing the point Greddy don't have a turbo kit out and they said they would pass on my request that they make one for the maxima.

Ok, that video was a 4th gen, could that turbo fit a 5th gen, being that its the same engine more or less (VQ30) just some adjustments to the cams and variable intake system.

We will make one if an order is placed. So far people have been asking for 5th gens but no one has ordered. Is we get an order we will build the kit.

For turbo kit pricing, it will cost a little more thn for 4th gen since the 4th gen already exists. I don't know quite yet. I will be able to find out in 2 weeks hopefully. I am not in the US right now.

As far as ECU is concerned - Huh? . The stock ECU can control the EFI system and engine. 4th and 5th gens use MAFs which makes this easier. I am not familiar with other generations. 4th and 5th gen engines are very close that is why I know this can be done. As far as 2K2 is concerned, the engine bay looks very tight on top. It may be possible to reroute pipes. For 5th gen 2000+ the only possible issue is space. I have not looked closely at how busy the enginebay is.

ok..
well the bays are quite tite.. but when going turbo the battery and the air box will have to come out.. I dont know if there is room to put all the pipes for an air to air intercooler.. thats why Im going to try and use a air to water cooler. and for the Ecu I was thinking of going with a haltech. I dont trust the 5gen Ecu to work well with a turbo on it. If this is not right then someone set me right.
One more thing, what size turbo would you guys go with. Im only looking for about 350hp. ( have to show dads bmw up)

2k2 engine bay

With the air box out and the frankentake in there should be plenty of space. Worste case the battery goes in the back, but their should be room for the turbo in there. Depending on price this sounds like a nice thing.....

Keep us posted on the prices.

at last notice the only SC action for a 2k2 is to have a custom job done. Hopefully with the 2k3 being the same model Stillen will put in some work and cut us a new SC for the 2k2. I sure hope so.

Ok you will make one if an order is placed..what id like to know are the following.

Is it a whole kit, (turbo, hoses, gaskets, bearings etc.)
What will be the cost of this kit?
And what are the things i have to do to make this a daily driven turbo'd car?

Depends on what you mean by whole kit. This kit would have everything the 4th gen kit has. Look on group deals for info.

Pricing depends on what you want in the kit. Again information is available on the GD forum

Honestly, who cares. It's gonna cost quite a bit, so do your research, contact turbonetics for alot of help in sizing the turbo for your motor, and you will recieve alot of advice on building a well rounded performer.

HKS or GReddy ? Honestly, they aren't worth the $$$. I built a $350 exhaust system that gets more looks than a HKS or Greddy System, and honestly has more sex appeal than any system on the market.

Nigel's System is made by PFIspeed.com

Mine is made in my garage.

I went to HKS's website and they size turbos and an intercooler for are cars so if I can get a manifold and piping for my car it's a plus.

An old issue of Sport Compact Car..can't remember which one though. I saw the pick of the Max in my Eibach springs brochure and did a google search and found those pages.
