now, you all know i don't have a 2k2, but a 2k1. and i have much love for the automagiks. but i've noticed the difference between auto and manual tranny is much less in the 2k2 than the two previous years. i just did a quick search and couldn't find anything. does anyone know if nissan changed the auto tranny for 2k2? and if so, how hard would a direct swap be? purely theoretical right now...

 

when Don looked at my valvebody he said it was exactly the same as the 2ks and 2k1s he did--the only difference he noted was the gated shifter--there could be other internals that make it different but from what I've heard they're the same

 

well, if thats true i wonder why the bigger discrepancies between 2k/2k1's than between the 2k2s...

True the gap is alot closer and all we know is that it was "beefed up as Nissan says".

 

then if it has been beefed up, i wonder if a swap is possible? shouldn't be too hard considering how close the motors are. and besides, would make a helluva mod for an 5g automagik...
