$2000 to spend on mods...need advice

I have a 2000 SE 5 spd and the only mods that I have added are a FSTB and tint. I was looking into buying a set of 18" Evo5's and a nice set of tires; when I sat down and figured it out, the total was almost $2000 Now, I am reconsidering that purchase.

If you had $2000.00 to spend on mods, what would you do?

Thanks,

T

TIRES!! TIRES!! TIRES!!!

If you are on stock RE-92's, TIRES!!!! Even if you don't change rims, get off those death traps...

Then, FSTB and RSB.

Let me rephrase myself...

I have $2000 to spend; including the cost of labor (if applicable) please provide suggestions for what I should do to my car; please be specific and include the cost of each mod; I am willing to spend the entire $2K; the car is currently STOCK

Thanks

Like I said...

get rid of the stock tires...use search to find many threads on who likes what tire and their cost...can't be any more specific...some like expensive tires (with potentially short lives, but great handling), others like moderate tires with good wear...in any event, pretty much ANY tire will be better than an RE92

search will also provide info on mods and prices...

FSTB s/b around 50-70 bucks
RSB s/b around 120 (group deal)

Get a Variable Intake j/k

Intake, POP or CAI $130-$200
RSB $130
Y-Pipe $ $350??
B-pipe $150??
SS brake lines ~$100
5th gen muffler $120 . . . . uh, maybe not

17 X 7.5 rims with 235/45/17 tires ~1600

You can get 18" or larger rims/tire, and even though the bigger rims look the best, they might take away too much performance (accelerating, braking and rain traction)away from all those other mods you may add.

Also, you may already have 17 rims, but with this side-grade, at least you'll make your car look unique.

Like said before, use the search, but here goes:

Tires: $500 to $900 installed depending on what you buy.

Intake: $75 to $200 once again depending on what brand and who you get to install it, it's rather easy, I suggest buying from a org member and DIY.

Y-pipe: $300 to $500.

Switch to Redline tranny fluid and switch to Amsoil synthetic oil.

I think I would get the 18" Evo5. I have the Kuhmos and if I remember correctly I spent about $1,400. After you go get the wheels, buy some Eibachs which should run you (If I remember correctly) about $230. The installation (correct me if I am wrong) should run you about $130 That should come to about the $2,000. You should have maybe 100-200 left over. If you want something after that get an intake, or just keep whats left over. But ultimatley its up to you. If you are into looks or speed, or in which order you want to do it. My opinion, looks first...
