Buying 2002 Manual

Ok... Today I am going to go down and buy the manual from Nissan. If anyone needs any info feel free to email me at dan@melteye.com

I will also be buying equipment so people can come down and work on their cars here... What do you recommend I purchase. (buying computer to read codes, etc)

My Nissan Service Manual for my 97 Maxima just came today. It cost
$ 119.00 including shipping. I bought it from Nissan North America, Inc. Their number is 440 572-0275. Took about 10 days to get it. It looks like a very worthwhile investment, diagrams and schematics are excellent. I am dangerous now, I can find everything being talked about on the forum. It even has the acronyms every one uses.
Hope this helps.

I have the obd scanner from here: http://www.obd-2.com/ .

I think it and the FSM go well together.

If my car is considered a total loss, Im guessing I will have an extra instructions manual laying around since Im getting another Max.I have everything in mint condition and I also have 2 stock alarm remotes, but I dont know if they can be reprogrammed after already being used.Everything is 2 months old.

If I go down to Nissan and buy one do I get it right away or is there a wait while they order it.

I bought the CD version of the manual for $210 from www.nissan-techinfo.com . While it it very useful, it is very pricy. Was that a good price, or did I get ripped off. I'm sure it'll show its worth though once the mod bug hits me hard. If anyone needs info from it, I'll be glad to share.

I would be surprised if the dealer had them in stock, mine didn't so I got their phone number off the forum (did a search on service manuals) and called them (Nissan North America) rather than running around. You can still reach them today as they are there till 800PM.

Man that obd scanner looks great! It combines 2 of my passions cars and computers. I know what I'm buying me for my birthday. Any guesses?
