Is it possible to open up the 2002 taillights to take out the ugly orange lense? I was thinking I could open up the 2002 tailights and put the 2000 lense inside. Does anyone think this is possible???

 

according to emax, it's nearly impossible to open up the rear tail lamp housings without breaking them. (he went through 3 sets trying).

 

Try a search BTW the 2000 tail lights need to be cut out with a dremel and then sanded into shape, they are not pop in's like the 2002's are. I managed to sand my tail lights down perfectly, but once inside the 2002 tail lights (after kinda busting them) I could not get the 2000 tail light piece to stay in place. Unless your crazy like me I don't suggest you try doing this.

2002 tail lights painted red, I ended up doing this after failing to attach the modified 2000 reflector to the 2002 tail light housing. I actualy like this look the bst, unfortunatly I was never able to get the clear surrounding on properly.



I plan on making this work someday, I need a nrw game plan though.

 

How did you paint them red? Did you paint just the orange piece or re-paint the whole circle? I have a black 2001 and I blacked my tails out completely but lately the 2k2 tails have been growing on me, but I hate the orange! They look realy nice in your pic of the half red and half clear with the clear housing.
