Tire Size Question…Need Help! Fast!

Hey gang!…I haven't been on the forum since the mack truck hit my car back in mid February, but all is cool now . My car's ('01 Max-SE) rear quarterpanel has been put back together an I'm happy, but I need your help now.

I just ordered the new Konig Attain wheel from Discount tire in the 18x8 | 5x114.3 | 38-offset sizing. I have it here at home but I need to know what's the widest tire size I can put on the rim an not get any rubing from the inside strut housing. I would like to run either 245-40-18 or 245-45-18(Q-45) or if not I'll have to settle for the 235-40-18.

At the same time I mount the wheels I'm also installing the ebaich pro-kit to lower the car, so I have to take in account for that also. I'm not worried about the speed-o or Odm being off, I'll have those readjusted.
What size do you all recommend I use?

the 235-45-17 fits ont the stock SE rims, which come with original 225-50-17's on them, the rims are 17" by 7.5" so if u got 8"wide im pretty sure that u can go 245 w/o any problems.

the stock se rims are 7.0 and 235/45/17 is not recommended for that size. if they were 7.5 then they wouldnt be a problem, sorry im not up to date on what runs for 18's/

Sloppymax is right! y2kse will confirm too The ussual tire size for 18x8 rim is 235/40/18. If you don't care about error you could put any tire you want but the 245/40/18 works b/c it falls into the minimum width for that tire, and the 245/45/18 would work also but 7.5 is the minimum width for that tire.

The best upsize from the 225/50R17 is the 245/45R17 IF your rim is wide enough to support it. The minimum rim width for a 245/45R17 is 7.5". So an 8" wide rim will work just fine.
