Way to not go red.
I like the silver. Been thinking of painting mine the same. Don't want the red, yellow, etc. I don't want to take the focus off the wheels or the rest of the car, especially with stock calipers and rotors. Just my opinion, also realizing I am older than most on the board. Which paint did you use?

thanks guys, i used VHT paint dont know who that is, just picked off the shelf, cast aluminum color.
i went with the silver since i didnt think red or blue or any other color would look just right, not that there is anything wrong with those colors

If I decide to paint my calipers, this is how I want them to look.
Give us a step by step how-to, preparation and painting. I went yellow on my previous car, but want to see if you take any extra steps to make sure it comes out perfectly.
Thanks

1. Clean them with brake cleaner. the crap I got sprayed so hard that I barely needed to wipe them down. Keep this away from a painted garage floor because it ate through mine and I had to spend all last weekend pressure washing it and repainting it.
2. Mix paint with the clear stuff/epoxy mix (if applicable).
3. DO NOT PUT PAINT IN A PLASTIC CUP. I did this and it ate a hole directly through 2 layers of cup. I had paint everywhere. And no, not just paint- extremely sticky red HELL that I still have on my fingernails today (no joke). I would wear latex gloves if I had to do it all over again.
4. I used the brush and did not mask anything off. The tape kept getting in the way so I was just VERY careful. It came out very nice.
5. Let dry for 2 hours and touch up as needed.
Calipers
Last time i painted them using spray can paint. I think i'd want to use spray this time also. Did everybody do it with a brush? Wouldn't that leave the brush marks? Last time i did it, it came out nice and glossy like the car paint.
well, thnx
well, thnx
Looks good Dario. I have the same rims so it's nice to get an idea how mine would look. I bought Folica Tec (SP?) silver caliper paint from Nathan over a year ago. It tells you that you shouldnt drive the car for 24 hours...can't afford the dowtime.

And I think you (asu174) said, just last week that you felt the paint job might be a little "ricey".
It does meet the definition.
Don't anybody get bent out of shape. I don't hate it, I'm just sayin'.
Yeah, I said it looks ricey...and it kinda does. But it matches the center cap of my wheel perfectly and I don't think any other color would look good with my wheels. Anyhow, the jury is still out on it. I might eventually have to go with silver.
And no, I did NOT remove the caliper. I used a brush there were absolutely no brush marks. The paint was super thick so it did not run everywhere. But I used the expensive kit with the epoxy.
