Aftermarket warranty? or no

I have a 2000 SE and I have 30,000 miles. Factory warranty is almost up. I had an aftermarket warranty on my Altima, which ended up paying off BIG TIME. After blown motor mounts and strut mounts, I ended up saving about $800 total after the purchase price of $1000.

My question- Should I buy an aftermarket warranty? Or will my mods basically void everything? I haven't gotten too nutty, but my mod list is below.

Warranty

I got the Nissan Warr for < 1100 (1046?) with $0 deductible when I bought my car. Now that I hear all this junk about Nissan Service I am getting nervous!!

I dunno the name of the company. Some local company in AZ. I bought it through Desert Schools on my Altima. Variable deductible. ie: repairs $50-$100 cost you $20, repairs $100-$500 coat you $50, etc.....

It covers a lot of stuff. Basically no belts or pads- the usual non warranty stuff. But this company was good.

Given that the warranty isn't from Nissan, would the local company even know a mod if they saw one?

Absolute total waste of money. I'd run from these like they are the plague. Don't do it - save your money.

Well the funny thing is that on my Altima they didn't even inspect it for the motor mounts. The garage just called it in and they paid them.

They did come out for an inspection 3 months later for the strut mounts. But the mechanic told me that the "inspector" got in the car and they just drove it around the block to listen to the noise. Then he left.

So, I guess the answer is no. But my exhaust might be a red flag on the Max because it is so damn loud.

Screw it. I want a hooker.

depends on the inspectors or the company then.....I wouldnt fall for it b/c some far they are covering small repair on you...but I dunno what they would react if they realize the repair is more than 1000...still too risky.

$1,100.00!!

I don't remember the exact price... but I'm sure that it was between $700.00-$800.00 on my 2K2 that I bought 10/01. For an extra 3 yrs/X miles, etc.

For that price... I dunno.

The newer the car, the cheaper the warranty. had I bought mine 2 years ago, it would have been around the same price.
