Pics of my tungsten blue max
Me at the dealer telling the salesman what I am looking for:
ME: I'm looking for a 02 Max 6spd with hlsd. I want either black, or the dark blue, you know what I mean, I forget what they call it.
Salesman: Yeah I know what you mean, you want the Guy blue. That other blue is for chicks.
I swear thats how the discussion went.

Re: Pics of my tungsten blue max
Hi. I just wanted to post here and say "Hi." I too have a 2K2 Tungsten Blue SE, pictured here.
I like it because of its uniqueness. There aren't too many of them out there. However, naturally, day one, driving around, stopped for lunch, and there was another just like it in the parking lot!

Yeah my girlfriend has a 2k2 Tungsten Blue Max. I told here to go and look at the Altima and see if she likes it, and if she did we would go back when I got off work to see what the dealer was talking about. Well to make a long story short she cameback with the Max. They gave it to here for less than invoice since it was the last 2k2 the dealer had on the lot and she took it.
I was really upset that she got a car just like mine.
But her's is not fully loaded like mine(leather, auto AC, etc...). So she has the Tungsten Blue & I have the Majestic Blue.

I was trying to decide between majestic blue, sterling mist, and tungsten blue. I liked the tungsten alot (and still do) but I haven't seen it in person. My previous car was sherwood green, so I knew what to expect from majestic blue. The sterling mist did not look good IMO. When I was buying my car they had a glacier pearl on the inside. I had never considered it until I saw it for myself. The tungsten is a unique color and I am sure I would have been just as impressed with it if I saw it in person.
Jaws . . . great color . . . not too many around. In fact, I think it's the best looking of all the available Maxima colors. Just think, if you hadn't taken this color, you could have had black or white like everyone else. Besides, it's your money. Don't worry about what everyone thinks of "your" pick.
TB is such a sleeper color. You'll hardly ever get looked at by cops - no matter what you do. I know!
You bet . . . I DO have the same color, and Central Valley Nissan had every color available when I went to purchase one. This one stood out. It is certainly different! Wheel choice is tough . . silver with a polished lip or chrome. I'm going with 18" Arceo Dynastar's
in chrome . . . as much as I hate chrome! But the wheel does look good. The car looks even "more custom" painted after aftermarket wheels are installed.
By the way . . . clay the paint and get about 5 coats of Zaino on it . . . you'll like it even more.
I'm the one who questioned the spats . . . I did take them off and they DO look like "a poor man's body kit." The car looks richer w/o them.
The color will grow on you - more and more each day. I'm just happy I got rid of my black Camaro SS. Never again will I have a black car!

Learned my lesson with colors
I learned really fast in the last few years that lighter colors are better. My Maxima history began in 1986 with the purchase of a light-blue GXE. This was the car that had the lady's voice telling you: "Lights are on." "Key is in the ignition" "Door is open", etc. Neat car. The next Maxima was a 1989 GXE with in-dash Sony CD player and head's-up display with the digital dashboard. It was the unusual color called "Silver Green Mist" and was actually a metallic light green. There weren't too many of those on the road, and despite how dirty it got, it never LOOKED dirty. I ran that car through 160,000 miles and had little trouble with it, though in later years, things like the dashboard lights began to fail. So in Fall 2000 I stepped up to the 2000 Maxima SE. This time, I wanted a sharp dark color for that deep, rich shine. I picked out the Mahogany Pearl (the predecessor to Merlot), and had that for the last 18 months. From day 2 it always looked dirty. I'd wash it and five minutes later it was covered with pollen or dust or whatever, and NEVER looked clean enough.
Last month, the wife and I went looking at the 2K2s in the lot near where we had breakfast. 8 hours later we were BOTH proud owners of new 2K2 SEs. I got the Tungsten Blue, she the Sterling Mist. The Tungsten Blue, when giving off its greenish cast, looks a lot like my old 1989 Silver Green Pearl, only better with the blue in it. I'm very happy with this car. It performs SO much better than the 2K, and with the toys like 6-disc CD changers and trip computers and RDS display on the radio, I couldn't be happier. This is one great car:
