"NISSAN" and "SE" emblems before and after pics
#42
I removed my badges and it looked too plain. I bought a black chrome colored "maxima" badge and put it on, just left off the SE. Looks much nicer than the chrome one did. Wife want's me to put on the SE to match now....

I prefer the stock look as well hell I even purchased a "3.5" emblem for the 02 Altima and added it to my car. It makes my 03 complete I dunno why Nissan didnt add the 3.5 emblem to it to help differentiate it from the 3.0s.

i own a spec v and a maxima...i debadges sentra off my spec V cus i think it's a shame that my spec be in the same class as the lowly sentra's such as gxe..xe...etc.
as for the se-R badge on the maxima..
originally Nissan was planning on making a 5th gen 260 hp version a maxima se-R but i guess they scrapped the whole idea and made it 255hp standard across the board. this was according to mike kojima before the 02's came out.. guess nissan didnt wan't to rice the maxima out.
Dave...what you doin out in riverside, didnt you used to live in oceanside?

I like the look without badges..one of the first things I did was take mine off. I liked the 2k-2k1 slanted letters so much better than the ugly block 2k2-2k3 ones, that's the main reason they came off.
I forget who asked...it was a couple pages back...but you can purchase Goo Gone at Target or Wal-Mart. It's in the household cleaner section.

I also prefer the badged (stock) look. I don't really see how removing the lettering makes the end "cleaner". Plus, the shiny chrome lettering that comes stock on the 2002/3 Maximas looks good when the car is clean and sun is shining down on it. No need to remove them IMHO. But to each his own...

Because there were no 3.0s 2002+. They do it on the Altimas because they have different engines in the same model years.

Just three questions:
Why?
Why?
Why?
When I see a car stripped of badges, I think several thoughts:
1) stolen
2) wrecked
3) repainted with spray paint cans
4) really a Pontiac Sunbird under plastic body panels
or the worst:
5) ashamed to be driving a Nissan

I knida wanna go for that clean look with
1. the door handles shaved.
2. the liscense plate area moved and at an angle.
3. the new body panels and effects kit unpainted.
4. with lots of bondo ( so i can get that "that car will look so PHAT when they get finished reaction").
5. cut springs so I can get the low to the groung look and still look as if I'm driving on river rock.
then where the maxima badge i gonna put twin turbo John Deere powered and put glasspackes onto it ... and an 8inch diameter 14inch long tip on it
question though? If I put daytons on it... would it them be Mexican Rice ?

i think they wanted to make sure people thought they were at least as powerfull as the Altima, otherwise some might see it and shy awayfrom it thinking it had a 2.5 like a base altima ? trying to prevent a slit in sales with all the advertising of the 3.5 altimas ?
just an idea

Looking To Be Different!
Personally, I like the clean look so I removed my badging too. Whether it's taking off the badging or adding new badging to the existing car, I think you guys will all agree that it's part of the modding bug that has befallen all of us.
It don't matter if you're installing that shiney new intake, attaching that phat new body kit or de-badging your trunk-- we're all doing it to personalize our rides and make them stand out from all the other Maximas out there. So there really isn't a right or wrong!
