It was a 5spd grey luster with all the options. I have an auto 2k SE with no options packages. Ooops... big mistake to drive that car. I realized what a big mistake I made with getting an auto. Not to mention the 17" rims and tires made my car feel like its just flopping about.

Kinna funny, never thought I'd like the butt warmers but they were kind of nice. The bose was too but again I can see why some people have complaints about it. It's performance isn't the greatest at higher volumes. I still have mixed feelings about the body kit but it definately looks better in person.

Anyway the main reason I'm posting is to help prevent people from making the same mistake I did. If you think you are even considering a stick, be sure and try one before you buy. I didn't and ended up in an auto.

I feel the same as you do...

I also have a base SE auto and test drove a loaded 2K SE 5spd(leather and all the toys) about a month ago.....I loved it(although the glove box rattled )

Wish to God I had not pinched my pennies and had gotten a stick with leather and all the goodies....

I understand the problems that some stick owners are having in their cars and believe everyone of their arguments are valid....I can't tell the whole issue with the 5 spds in a 5-10 minute test drive but I loved the car! My only gripe was that their seemed to be way too much power in 1st gear(way more than I am used to at least having driven stick 4 bangers the past 15 years) I would be concerened about trying to get a smooth stable start in 1st during the snowy seasons without spiing the tires into oblivion

Still may make the sacrafice in the money dept and do so next spring although I may wait to see if the 2002 gets a 3.5.....

amen on waiting for the 3.5... I was so close to leasing the car... we had it down to the final numbers and since they wouldn't drop it $5 a month I didn't do it. It's funny how they say "it's only $5" my retort was always "well then it shouldn't matter to take it down $5" definately was a good learning experience to haggle for a new car when I really wasn't in the market to buy
