Which older car has the gas tank accessible by pulling down the license plate??
This is in regards to my photo radar plate idea. I plan on using the flip down mechanism and wiring it to a couple of pins that will push out from the screw holes, thus making the plate face directly down towards the ground.
Any thoughts on this? Oh, and what kind of car has it?

I think I remember seeing an ad either in "Car And Driver" or "Road And Track" about a license plate frame where the glass/plastic covering is made so that those photo radar cameras can't take a clear shot of the plate.
Go check the current issue of those magazines. It may have been another magazine too, I'm not sure. I'll try to find it.
Stay tuned...

so let me guess ur gonna hook it up to a sting from ur license plate all the way to ur car, and u plan to pull it just in time to escape it camera??? dont know about u, but those cameras that are hidden are the problems, and they take pics pretty damn fast. just know were they are, and were all the speed traps are. here ill give u a freebee, one of the biggest speed traps here is located on Greenway rd, heading down toward 7th ave. the speed drops from 45, to 35school zone, and most people go on that road 60+mph. a camera is at that light as well as a cop hiding behind a wall just before the light on the right side so i always drop down to 35 there. ive seen way too many people get pulled over there, like 4-5 a week! but that still didnt save me i got screwed by those other two cops. u know the story. and check ur PMs i sent back a price.

Yeah there are plenty of companies that make those photo radar blocking license plate covers. If that's what you want, there's an easy, cheap solution. If you want it to flip or be obstructed for any other reason, like me, then you'll need to get creative...Good luck don't give up.

Re: I believe
Am I the only one that is thinking how bad of an idea this is? I mean...if you want to speed that bad just go out and do it and risk getting caught like the rest of us! But to go so out of your way to get away with speeding? Speed limits are there for a reason, you know! What about traffic lights, stop signs, one-way streets, school zones, crosswalks, and all that other stuff??
Yes, thank you, I'm the Org Police today!!! LOL

They set these speed traps up on 35 mph and 40 mph roads that are 4 lanes wide. You can get a photo radar ticket for going 47 mph on Indian School (4 lane major road) coming off of the 101. I did.
It is a sheer revenue generating tool for the city. Safety is not a concern. Plenty of studies show that when you increase the speed limit, the number of traffic related deaths stays relatively flat.
Plus, I'd prefer not to have my right to privacy violated by big brother. I don't want my picture taken. What's next? City installed cameras in eveyone's home?
You want to talk about something dangerous? Try blinding an unexpected driver with a ridiculously bright flash when they are already going at what the city considers to be an unreasonable speed. Do ya see the irony? I can't wait for the first person who runs their car off the road because of that flash and gets to sue the pants off the city.

Here's the ad from "Car And Driver":
"Beat The Photocops!!
A clear plastic lens designed as a simple, passive system, capable of denying photo radar your identity. The Eliminator turns your plate reflective at known camera angles."
$39.95 + $5.95 shipping
www.redlineauto.com
Orders: 1-800-725-1501
FAX: 613-443-0529
Wouldn't this be easier than making up your own contraption?
