Tire Question for all you experts!

Tire Question for all you experts!
I have a '02 maxima se and the stock tires are all-season 225 50 17". I have a nice set of Z rated Dunlops lying around that I want to put on, but they are 225 45 17". I know they will fit on there, but is it ok? I assume there will be some change in the MPH gauge, but I would guess not more than 5mph or so?!?!
Has anyone else done this? Is there something I should be aware of?

That's perfect. I'm running that on my 17x7s. Most tire manufactirers recomend a maximum of 225 on 7" ewide rims. The only issue would be speedo error on a 2K2 Maxima. As someone said above, the speedo error will be 3.4% from a stock 225/50/17 I think up to 4% is acceptable.

Also, you can run a 235mm tire on a 7" wide rim. But the aspect ratio has to be at least a 50 to remain in spec.

Yeah. But just think how nicely they'll fill up the wheel wells for those of us with stock suspensions.
