Who has the 5th Gen with highest mileage? How are the higher mileage 5th Gens holding up?

 

I've got 79,000 and my car just landed at the shop over the weekend for the first time since I got with 28,000 on it. It's in limp mode, I'm not really sure what's wrong. Maybe an MAF sensor, O2 sensor, Loose wire, etc..?

 

i got 65,and change ive been in for a few things nothing major though

gonna hopefully get rid of it at around 100,000 probly by november..

right around the time of the g35 coupe

Tranny TSB 2X
Tranny Replacement 2X(my fault)

ECU Reprogram 1X(my fault)
MAF replacement 1X(my fault)
VIAS System Replacement 1X(my fault)
Ignition/Alarm fix 1X(my fault)
One squeek, a few rattles.

Car repainted, new windshield after a "sandstorm."

No Major Problems.

 

ive got about 63k on mine and im going wednesday for my 60k tune up (a lil late) the only prob ive had was i had to get the ecu reprogrammed

You mean 13,000 right?

 

Is it just me that reads the line "No Major Problems" and I can count 7 issues, some of which are done 2X, including replacing the tranny ummm HELLO?

Please tell me your kidding when you say No Major Problems..

 

Got my car Sept 20, 2001 when it had 18,700 miles and as of today, June 11, 2002 it has 39,223. Pretty good eh? 20,523 miles in 9 months for a 16 year old in high school

 

Well........

things that have gone wrong already, and things that need to be fixed currently:
1. bank 1 hego (o2)
2. clutch or flywheel is warped (have not rep. yet)
3. brakes 3x
4. need ECU recal
5. power steering pump (pulley bent)
6. 4 bent rims and bubbled tires (from I-94)
7. Need new shocks
8. need to grease ball joints and other fittings
9. ground strap to exhaust
10. y-pipe is rusting


I think that's it for now. And of course I need to get my front clip and hood repainted from all the chips.

Still love my car though!

 

posts I'm changing my mind about Nissans being reliable cars and BMWs nickle and diming one to death!
My old had zero (zero, zero zero) problems apart from the LEDs going out on the computer display panel -in three years and 36k miles I did not touch that car -not even a light bulb!

 

ive got 40k miles and still going like new.

Wow! have you gotten to drive your car at all? Sounds like the dealer probably put about 20k miles on your car just driving it after fixing stuff! j/k

 

Logged about close to 70+ hrs on a dyno, just to beat 255hp 6spds. As for Nissan dealership driving my car, only 1 person was allowed to drive my car after every repair, and he only logged on 5-6 miles on the car, cause I mark how much mileage was on the car, and how much afterwards. I know he went to get lunch w/ my car a few times my car was at Nissan, cause I had someone from NYC call me up and ask when did I get orange spiky hair.
